Ok, so I officially suck at this blog thing I so ambitiously started a few months ago. Seriously, how have two months gone by?!?! But I do have to say that the past two months have quite possibly been the craziest two months of my entire life. I am exhausted and stressed to the max! Mills left over two months ago and I have been holding down the fort at 111 Clarke Avenue all by myself ever since (with the help of my watch dog Penny). I have been working longer hours than ever before. Will there ever be an end in sight with my job? Why do they just keep buying companies and firing all of the employees and making us do more work? I have been trying to keep our house perfectly clean and tidy for the showings and open houses, which sucks by the way! A few bites and nibbles but no serious buyers yet.
In January we had Miss Carrie Kincaid's bachelorette party at French Lick Resort and Spa, which I must say is a glorious hidden gem in Indiana that I had never been to. We went wine tasting, went bowling, ate lots of food, drank, gambled, drank, danced, and drank some more. It was fabulous! We also had her glorious peacock themed bridal shower and a couple's shower for both her and Shaner.
Then in February I went down to visit Ryan in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. It was quite possibly the craziest event I have ever witnessed in my life! I keep asking myself why they call Las Vegas "Sin City", when it is so much tamer than New Orleans. We watched parades and spent 14 hours partying on Bourbon St. on the Saturday before Fat Tuesday. I found my new favorite bar. It is an absinthe bar! Although I didn't like the absinthe that much, I loved the bar. I saw men in G-strings, women with painted on bras, old ladies showing their asses, and more funny costumes than one could imagine. It was basically like the hugest "breakfast club" ever! I wasn't sure if I would like it or not, but I LOVED IT and can't wait for next year! I want to join a krewe so I can be the queen one day and ride on a big fancy float at the front of a parade! I also got to see the giant 20 pound New Orleans rats! Sssiiiccckkk! They are called Nutria rats or Coypu's. They are these giant rodents that just hang around down in Louisiana and other swamp like places. I saw about 12 of them on the way from the airport to Ryan's apartment. They are seriously about 3 times the size of Penny dog! Now I have to keep her from getting eaten by alligators and giant rats! GREAT!
Ok, I just got side-tracked by a two and half hour phone conversation with my friend Sara who lives in San Fransisco. We don't get to talk all that much so whenever we do we are like high school girls on the phone for hours on end. Anyways I am tired now and can't finish this post so I will write more tomorrow!
