Photo Shoots

Well, I just got back from the Colts game and we LOST the first game all season. Why do we lose every game I go to? I got the tickets for Mills for Christmas. At least we had really good seats. Remind me never to waste money on tickets again. It was fun though besides the loss. We met Carrie and Shane before the game at The Slippery Noodle for a few brewskies. It was snowing big fluffy snowflakes outside so it was a fun walk to the game. Oh well, no perfect season. No 78 Dolphins season. But there's always the Superbowl.

Anyways, I thought I would post some of the pics I have taken over the last few weeks from the photo shoots I have done. I got the opportunity to take some pictures of my friend Wendy, her husband Jeremy, their adorable little girl Charlotte and their two dogs. It was a lot of fun for my first shoot ever! They wore ugly Christmas sweaters! Then a week or two later I took some pics of my friend Jess' beatiful little baby Addison. I have always been into taking pictures, even as a kid. I have had a camera for as long as I can remember and I have so many photo albums I don't know what to do with them. So anyways about a year ago I got a Nikon D60 and I am just now actually starting to really experiment by taking some actual portraits...on manual. I really don't know what I am doing and some of the pictures kind of show it, but I hope to get better with each shoot. I REALLY don't know what I am doing when it comes to Photoshop. I definitely need to take a class STAT so I know how to edit these photos.

First Blog Ever!

OK, so I have decided to start a Blog like all the cool people. I don't really know why. I guess so I can have some sort of creative outlet to write and somewhere to post some of my pictures. Also to have a place to talk about my wedding plans! Mills is so over all the wedding planning, but I LOVE it!

So for starters, I guess I should officially announce that Ryan and I are moving to New Orleans...The Big Easy! We are both very excited and blessed to have this opportunity! About two weeks ago he got offered a promotion at work that would require us to move down there so we flew to NOLA last weekend for 4 days to check out the city. I absolutely loved it! I really think it is my kind of town. It seems somewhat European! Small shops, restaurants, bars and houses all intermingled in different neighborhoods. Open air markets and people speaking French everywhere! I guess I need to brush up on my French. When I studied abroad in France in college I used to be somewhat fluent but it is amazing how fast I lost those skills once I came back and wasn't speaking it on a regular basis anymore. Anyways, New Orleans seemed very much like a melting pot of different cultures, which I loved. The people, the food, the music...it was all so inspiring and exciting. I can't wait to immerse myself! Deciding whether or not to take this opportunity was a very hard decision for Ryan and I. On one hand we felt like it was a no-brainer because the job promotion is just great for Ryan and it seems like such an exciting way to start out our marriage...living in a new city and starting a new life together. On the other hand, it seems like only yesterday that we both moved back here to Indiana to get closer to friends and family and now all of the sudden we are opting to move half way across the country from everyone. At the end of the day we just decided to go for it. Try it out and see what happens. Take a leap of faith and hope that everything works out for the best. I know that we would have regretted not going and taking this opportunity. So now, Ryan will be leaving in about two weeks..:( Altria (Philip Morris) has found a territory for me and will be holding it until June 1st. So I can stay up here in our house until it sells and continue with my wedding plans and then move down after the honeymoon. I really don't want to be away from Ryan for that long, but we have done it before and we can do it again. Everything is just falling into place perfectly, it almost seems too good to be true, but I am just taking as a sign that we are making the right decision! Anyways, I really hope we will have visitors when we move down there b/c it really seems like such a fun city!

Another Christmas is over and I so enjoyed seeing and spending time with our families. We got to stay two nights at my grandma's house which was so much fun! She just loves having Ryan and I stay there, she treats us like royalty. So we got a Wii this year and had a blast playing it with my family last night. My 84 year old grandma almost beat Mills at Wii Bowling!!! HAHA!

OK, so that is all I am going to write for my first Blog! Ryan and I are going to the Colts game tomorrow and I need to get my beauty sleep!
